On May, we delivered a 10 ton and a 25 ton diesel engine powered winch to Colombia. Our Colombia already collected the shipment last month, and now the client is installing the winch and doing test running of these winch, all the features and performance is excellent on good condition.
The diesel winch is a machine which drives the drum and winding the rope to complete the pulling work by diesel engine mechanical power. Heavy objects can be lifted vertically, horizontally or pulling tipsily. Mainly used in power transmission and transformation projects (including underground power cable projects), telecommunication construction projects, pulling cables, pipeline laying construction site, lifting heavy objects and tools, especially suitable for small batch operations in cities.
The main working principle is that the mechanical power provided by the diesel engine drives the gears and other transmission devices to keep the drum rotating in both directions continuously. By changing the speed ratio of gear reducer and the output power of the diesel engine, variable speed changing can be realized. When the pulling work is completed, the emergency stop button can be used to turn off the machine immediately, all the working and operating process is not only easy but also high-efficiency.
The rope capacity of these two winches is 1000 meters, and each winch has 5 speed gears, which can freely switch different speeds when the winch is working, The main using purpose is the rehabilitation of carbon steel pipes by install a polymer liner inside. In the next link you can see how this process work https://youtu.be/bRRq3ALCYac. the client’s requirement is to pull different liner through a host pipe, this process required between 10 and 50 ton, a velocity around 15 m/min, we need measure and controller the pulling force because the polymer have a maximum pulling force before break.

The winch controls the starting of the diesel engine through electric ignition starter by using 12V lead-acid battery×2, and the throttle handle is used to stop the fire. After the diesel engine starts, the clutch is hung up to make the drum go forward, the wire rope is collected, and the heavy load is pulled. There is a gearbox on the diesel engine. Through different gears, the output speed is controlled to achieve different speeds for pulling heavy objects by using speed control lever in diesel engine; When the winch finished working, can use stopping pull rod to turn off the machine immediately.
