Marine mooring winches are divided into three categories: manual, electric and hydraulic according to their power.
Now, I will briefly introduce some requirements for the diameter and strength of the marine mooring winch drum.
Reel diameter requirements:
(1) For steel wire ropes, the diameter of the marine drum shall not be less than 16 times the design rope diameter.
(2) For polyester or polyamide ropes, the diameter of the marine drum shall not be less than 6 times the design rope diameter.
(3) For polypropylene ropes, the diameter of the marine drum shall not be less than 4 times the design rope diameter.
Strength requirements of the reel:
(1) When the rated torque of the prime mover is used to calculate the stress of the transmission device and other stressed parts, the calculated stress of the stressed parts shall not exceed 40% of the yield limit of the material.
(2) The larger torque of the prime mover corresponding to the worst working conditions, the calculated stress of the stressed parts shall not exceed 90% of the material yield limit.
(3) When subjected to braking load, the calculated stress of the stressed parts shall not exceed 90% of the yield limit of the material
