Vessel & Ship
The most common use of marine winch is used for mooring and anchoring, which means that the winch is usually mounted on the front of the deck. The mooring system can keep the ship in place and prevent the ship from drift from the berth. The ship is a berth bucket to perform a variety of functions, for example, winch is used to store mooring ropes when not using, and drag the ship in place in the case of resistance to environmental forces, or can be used as a safety device once the force of mooring ropes is increased to the ultimate limit, and then the rope load is released in a controlled manner. Depending on the size, shape, and tonnage capacity of vessel, they will choose different rated working load winches; when the ship starts setting sail, the anchor winch will enable the chain on the anchor drum to leave the ship to leave the wharf or terminal; In some special circumstances, when tugging is needed, the winch will connect the vessel with towing winch and start dragging operation; when there are some work like loading and unloading operations on the ship, the winch also could be used for lifting and pulling completely. Whenever the vessel need to be anchored, stopped and dragged, mooring winch and anchor windlass will be very helpful and indispensable. When the ship reaches at the port or wharf and ready to stop, it is necessary to use an anchor windlass and mooring winch to ensure that it stops immediately and safely stays in place without moving or drifting.
